WHAT IS GORILLA PIT
GORILLA PIT is a 24-hour strength training and conditioning facility built for serious athletes. We were founded in opposition to the politically correct, accomplish-as-little-as-you-want approach of most globo gyms. We train a variety of athletes - from powerlifters to marathoners - with varying degrees of experience. Our expectation is not perfection, but a commitment to constant improvement. Come in today and check us out.
WHAT WE OFFER
Our training can be broken down into three distinct branches:
STRENGTH SPORTS works exclusively with Powerlifters, Strongmen, and Strength based athletes.
ATHLETICS works with most team and individual sports, with a focus on high school athletes.
CROSSFIT is the internationally recognized conditioning program intended to develop well-balanced athletes.
If you do not fit into one of the above categories, worry not. We will tailor a training program to your specifc needs. Call today for more info: 440.940.6734

Your Brain is not a muscle: ignore it.
Gorilla Pit is a gym. Gorilla Pit Strength Sports is an extension of the gym, offering programming designed for powerlifters, strongmen, and any other type of athlete primarily developing strength. Our facility is equipped with atlas stones, kegs, heavy tires (350 - 1000 lbs), a monolift, and many more resources you aren't likely to find in a conventional gym.
We built Gorilla Pit Strength Sports because a gym atmosphere absolutely affects the results of training. Even if the Globo Gym doesn't prohibit deadlifting, chalk, and halfway decent music, the rows of people packed on treadmills ("jogging" while reading a magazine) will inhibit one's ability to truly push their limits.
And expectations are relative; If the person to your left goes heavy, and the person to your right goes heavy, you must rise to the challenge yourself. In most gyms you put 400+ on a bar and heads will turn. Here those are warmup sets. It changes your expectation about what is possible.
We take our training seriously, but we are not dicks. We like to help anyone genuinely interested in improving their training. If you are serious about getting stronger, this is the place to be.

Crossfit 440
What is CrossFit? CVFMHI
Defined: Constantly Varied, Functional Movements, done at High Intensity.
CrossFit utilizes a combination of olympic lifts, gymnastic and metabolic conditioning exercises that will get you FIT. The movements are movements that you already do: squat, lift, push, pull, run, etc. This is known as functional fitness.
CrossFit is for everyone: seniors, men, women all ages. When you come to a CrossFit 440 class, you will train with a class, led by a CrossFit Certified Trainer. Your trainer will help you achieve proper form, scaling of weights and intensity to help you to get the most out of every workout. You get the best of both worlds: the attention of trainer and the motivation of your peers.
Each CrossFit workout is different and you will learn to use equipment like Barbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, weights, rings, boxes and even PVC pipe. Drop in to a class and check it out!!
You & CrossFit 440
